I was watching my daughter read the books from the Chronicles of Narnia series she received for Christmas and got to wondering how many books people have read that eventually turned into Disney movies. I personally have read:

The Chronicles of Narnia (all)
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
101 Dalmatians
Alice in Wonderland
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
The Jungle Book

There are probably more that I'm missing...which ones have you read?

The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot was a book before it was a Disney film!

Bambi
The Black Cauldron
Alice in Wonderland (and Through the Looking Glass, which IIRC is actually more of the inspiration of the movie version)

I've read The lion the witch and the wardrobe
Cinderella
Snow white and the 7 dwarves
Alice in wonderland
A christmas carol(didn't they do a disney one)
I've read the story of Pocohantus(sp)
pinnocco
sleepy hollow
Peter Pan

I know there are more, but I can't think of them now.

All of the Pooh things were a book by AA Milne (sp)

Don't forget Treasure Island (Treasure Planet)
also, was Homeward Bound a Disney movie (blasphemy to have to ask, I know), I certainly read The Incredible Journey many moons ago.

Briar Rose was a Grimm's fairy tale. I know Little Mermaid was a story but I can't remeber by who.

I think Little Mermaid was Grimm's too. Alladin was a book, or at least a fairy tale.

Gary Paulsen's "Winterdance" was made into a Disney movie called "Snow Dogs"

I believe all the princess/fairy tale movies were books (meaning Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, etc.).

Some others:
Old Yeller
Johnny Tremaine
Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (both parts, from two separate stories)
The Sword in the Stone
Oliver and Company (Oliver Twist)
Beauty and the Beast (Grimms)
Great Mouse Detective (based on Sherlock Holmes)

I actually found a book that was based on Mulan as well. The book wasn't called Mulan but it was a story book based on the legend. I read it to my kids when they were very young.

In my work, my students were reading Ali Baba/Prince of Thieves and comparing contrasting to Alladin.
