Books that are real page-turners??

I vote for the Left Behind series as well. Jenkins/LaHaye have done a terrific job. These books are definite page turners. I have to set aside time to read them when I have other stuff done or I will stay up all night, LOL. :teeth:

The Foundation Trilogy by Isaac Asimov is a classic.

I've seen a number of my favorites mentioned, but I'm amazed that NO one has mentioned 2 'masters' of the page-turner, Robert Ludlum and Tom Clancy.

Robert Ludlum is awesome, and while I love Tom Clancy, especially Hunt for Red October, I have to be in the mood for Tom Clancy, since he tends to be slow and technical during the first half of the book.

By the time I'm done reading one of his books, I feel like I can strip down a submarine, defuse a nuclear warhead, and fix a tank!:teeth:

Just read Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons and loved it
Confessions of a Shopaholic, good light read
The Charm School by Nelson DeMille
anything by Jodi Picoult..anything by Elizabeth Berg
The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd
Gracelin O'Malley ...The Tea Rose-both great historical fiction
I love the Kay Scarpetta series by Patricia Cornwell
The Lovely Bones
The Other Boleyn Girl

I recently binged on The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. Got interested in it because I heard that the Pitts (Brad & Jennifer) are planning to make a movie of it. But it's a great read, too. Fascinating premise, a great romance, some humor, some heart tugging. I like all that in one book. Diana

Boy, there are a lot of book threads on DIS now. I just posted to a couple on the cruise board.

Whoever said Tom Clancy, he was on my list too.

And I liked Battlefield Earth by L. Ron Hubbard.

Diana, we're going to have to do a book exchange for the 10 day cruise. That way it's only 1/2 the weight to carry! I think there are several readers on our thread.
