My friend wants me to book her Disney vacation for her using my credit card. She does not have one.
When checking in will she need my cc to verify reservation or will the confirmation number be enough.?

in 2009 my mom paid for my xmas trip with her credit card and i had no issues, she paid for the one i am leaving for in 7 days too and do not expect there to be any problems. I have already done online checkin and put my cc in.

As a different option (and possibly a safer one for you - financially) - your friend can call and put a hold on a room and mail a check to pay the deposit.

When you book they will ask if this is the credit card you will be using and I always say no. I prefer to give it at checkin rather than have them keep it on record. If she has a debit card she can use that for the deosit also. I know you must trust her but it is always better to not loan money to friends.

My husband agrees with most of you. He would like her to use her own method of payment.

I am way to soft.
I don't think as Canadians we can use debit.

I have to agree with your husband on that one, too. You can't be too soft when it comes to your credit cards. I would never give anyone else my CC info, you can't be too careful these days even with friends.

Now that I think about it, I paid for my cousin and her family's trip in Dec 2008 (gift trip), but it was thru AAA with my check card as credit, she had no issue checking in with the documents we received in the mail, but if she had, I was at least on property with her.

Another thing to think about, if she cancels or makes changes that entitle her to any type of refund the money will be refunded to your credit card. You then will have to find a way to pay her back the cash. For some people that could be an issue or could create problems.

You can buy pre-paid VISA's and load money onto them and use them as a credit card. If you have a Walmart (not sure if Canada has Walmart) they sell them there.

There is no way I would put someone else's vacation on my debit or credit card.

I booked my sis-in-laws reservation with my credit card and we did the same thing in 2010. She did not need my cc or even the cc number to check. My advice though is to require her to pays you up front in cash or money order before you put a deposit down for her. I always do this with my sis-in-law.

Even if they paid you up front in cash? I was happy to do it for my sis-in-law (who doesn't have a credit card or even a checking account) because I earned the Disney points on my Visa that I can spend in WDW. I just made sure she paid me IN FULL and IN ADVANCE before I charged it to my cc.

Friendly advice - friend needs to find another way to make payment:wizard:

Agree 100% with this post.

I don't care how good a friend and how long I've known someone, I wouldn't give out my credit card number to them. I'm sure if she called WDW they would give her several options for paying for HER vacation.

I would have to agree with a PP, I would have her purchase a disney gift card and use that. I know our Sam's Club here had $100 GC and you got a $10 GC for disneyshopping online:)
