Booking window... when does it start? exactly?

In anticipation of making a DVC purchase... I'm a little confused.

I understand the home resort 11 month window... and 7 month window for other resorts.

But when does it start exactly?

If I want to reserve my home resort Dec. 1-5... Do I call Jan. 1? or Jan. 5?
or do I have to call Jan 1, 2, 3, 4, AND 5?

None of the above. The soonest you could call for any of the dates is the check out day of your first night--January 2. You can call day by day for the rest of the dates if you wish, or you could make the entire reservation beginning on January 6 (if the 5th was your last night).
