Booking Wild Africa Trek Questions

Hi Disfriends!

I'm looking to book the Wild Africa Trek for our November trip. I've never done this excursion before, and I learned today that the window opens at midnight of your 60 day window. Are there other tips or tricks I need to know when booking? After doing a little research, I'm thinking this is a tough-to-book excursion? I'm looking to book for myself, DH, my cousin, and her hubby. If I log in right at midnight on our 60 day window, do I have a reasonable shot at getting four slots for us? What else do I need to know? Our 60 window opens in about a week and a half, so I want to make sure I have the right info.

Thanks so much for any intel!

If you're ready to go right at 60 days, I expect you'll have a decent chance to book for 4 people. We did this a couple years ago, and I seem to recall perhaps 20 or so people on the tour (that's not even close to official, just my memory trying to help!). What I'd recommend is you do a little 'practicing' on the site to make sure you're comfortable booking - you can go out 60 days from now and see what the availability looks like without actually making the reservation or paying any money.

It's a very fun experience and I think you'll be ok in mid-November. Good luck. The effort is worth it!

I might be wrong, but I think its like dining, book 60 + . We booked the Savana and did it that way. So maybe look at a date 3 or 4 days into your vacation.

Yes for on-site guests it is 60 days +10 (max duration) booking window. Yes looking beyond the check-in date may improve your ability to snag your reservations.

@mort1331 and @Dave006 thank you for this info! I am staying on property, so I will definitely look a few days into our stay. Hhhhmmm, now that I think of it, we have a split stay. We are staying at Boardwalk Inn and then transferring to GF. Will this make booking the Wild Africa Trek 60 days + difficult?

Dining is 6am. Tours and other special experiences like firework cruises, water park cabana, etc. open at midnight. Usually.

I know with ADRs, a split stay means you can book the first part of your stay at 60 days plus the length of your first stay. Then you have to wait a few days to get to the start of your second stay for the next "60 day" window. If that's the case for the tours, it might be best to plan your trek a few days into either of your split stays. Do you have a feel for which day of your trip you want to do the WAT? Also, if possible, have a Plan B date.

I just booked this for four people last Tuesday at midnight. It was for the third day of our trip. I was able to get a 12:30 tour. I double-checked immediately after to see if there was an earlier time, and it was completely sold out for the day. Get on exactly at midnight and have the tour on your screen ready to click on.

Your split stay is not something that Disney treats as a single stay for booking ADR or tours. Yes it may have some impact depending on where in your resort stay you are trying to book your Wild Africa Trek.

Your first window will open at 60 days + your lenght of stay at BWI (including check-day). And your second window will open at 60 days before your GF check-in day for that length of stay.

Does that make sense?
