Booking VWL at 7 months

We're hoping to book VWL the last week of October next year. Problem is, it's not our home resort. I've read it was very hard to book BCV at 7 months during Oct. is the same true for VWL?

We have BWV as our home resort. While I make BWV reservations at 11 months, I often change at 7 months. I have never failed to get exactly what I wanted at 7 months. Next March I am staying at BCV and WLV booked at 7 months. The trick is to do it exactly at 7 months not 6.5 or 4.

the wine and food festavial is going on at Epcot so BWV and BCV are in demand - not the MK - so no you shouldn't have a problem.

there is a golf tournament sometimes in Oct but that is at OKW - so again VWL should be okay.

oh forgot - the MNSSHP is happening at the MK - but since the dates for it aren't out until after the 7th month - this should not be a problem -

Thanks all. We've offered to take friends, and they have a 4 yo who will probably be most interested in MK. And we're hoping to hit a MNSSHP day in that week as well. Can't wait.

IMHO, the VWL will get more and more difficult to book at 7 months and less in the future. VWL is the smallest resort and right now, SSR, the largest DVC resort ever is in the process of being built/sold. Over time, unless a new Magic Kingdom DVC Resort (Like the rumored one at the Contemporary) gets built, the VWL will be more popular than ever. Especially at that 7 month mark. There will be a lot of 9:00 A.M. calling.

We stayed at the Lodge last year and just loved it. Had lots of great info and advice from folks here. We booked day-by-day at 7 months and did fine, but we only wanted a studio. I am getting ready to make more reservations for June, because posts here seem to indicate that the smaller resorts are going to be harder to book if you don't have the 11-month window. We figure we better enjoy the Lodge now, before it gets "impossible" to get a room there!
