Booking Virtual Queue/Genie+ for Multiple Friends and Family

I've had past difficulty with this so I was curious prior to an upcoming trip to hear how folks have fared with the 7:00a rush to book rides. When you are making a virtual queue or Genie+ selection right at the 7a start, if I recall right, the next screen goes to you picking your group from your friends and family list. As I have more people on that list than are going on this trip, I recall difficulties in trying to make sure the right people are selected. However, I remember another trip where the people were already selected too. In the new version of the app, does the default selection already have those that you have been planning with? For instance, I have a group of 8 that are staying at the resort together, have park reservations, etc. Others on my list would not. My hope would be that those people are selected immediately when I get to the group choice screen and instead I don't have to search and pick for the right names.

This may not seem like much, but given how quickly Remy for VQ or Slinky or others for G+ are going, every second may count. For those who have visited and are connected to more friends and family on their Disney account than just their current travel party, what was your experience?

Being responsible for a group of 8, the booking has me a bit nervous (never mind trying to make sure everyone purchases their G+ before 7a too!).

Only those with a park reservation and a park ticket for that day (or presumably an AP) will be selected.

From what I've read, they've changed the virtual queue system so you can confirm your party members before the virtual queue opens. My understanding is that you can do that any time between 6am and 7am.

I don't have first-hand experience with this yet, but the change was made in September before RotR stopped using the virtual queue and before Remy officially opened. So if you try to google it, most results will be about RotR, but it does apply to Ratatouille now. Here's one blog post that not only mentions this change in the context of Ratatouille but also explains how to do it. Scroll to the "Join Virtual Queue" screenshot; the explanation is in the two paragraphs that follow.

I'm not sure if the same thing applies for G+ parties.
