I have been looking at universalorlando.com/fanclub and looking at some of the packages you can book online and I have a few questions:

1. Why is it that when you choose your room, it says $403, but then when it shows you what all the charges are, it says the room is $806, why does it double the room cost???

2. Can you book these packages over the phone and not have to pay the full price at the time you book it? Do they do the one night deposit thing like WDW does?

I know these packages usually are more expensive, I was just checking into it since I had a fan club discount.

Is the package, as they usually are, PER PERSON? That would make the price double since they are always based on double occupancy.

You would undoubtedly do better booking your own vacation than going with a package. Call 1-800-be-a-star and ask for the entertainment rates for your dates. If you do not have an entertainment book they are very inexpensive and well worth it. Check www.entertainment.com

You can also try www.hotelkingdom.com They are offering the 4th day free for certain days.

If the packages include tickets check the rates of the rooms with the price of the 2, 3 day or Power Pass tickets. It will add about $100 per person. Does the bottom line match? Do the math, you might make out better.

Universal will expect a down payment of one night rate. If you book on www.hotelkingdom.com like I did, you only have to pay 10 - 15% down.
