As we have done on the past 2 visits, we are staying one night at a Universal hotel during our next (imminent!) trip.

I booked via phone a month ago. Today I have got my credit card statement, and I find they have charged me in advance! They haven't sone thisin the past. Is this something new? They haven't done this before - to us anyway.

Just rung them. Apparantly they take the first night's charge as a deposit.

We've stayed at the HRH twice for 3 nights (2003 & 2005) and on both occasions we've paid a deposit equal to one night. At least it always reduced our bill when checking out !

Last year we stayed one night at RPR and they didn't charge in advance. This year we've booked 2 at HRH and yup, one night has been taken off the CC. Like Garry says, at least the bill will be less when we check out! ;) ;)

We've stayed twice at each of the Universal resorts. In the past, we've always been charged the one-night deposit, but in January we weren't. :confused3

Maybe it depends on the mood of the person taking the reservation.... :rotfl:

You're probably right there!

Getting very excited now. Only one more day at work - then we're off!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

It does vary when you call, but when booked by the internet site throuh Lowes then they don't take it in advance, I am told they then take is 14 days before you go.

I've been confused by this, too .

In the past we've been charged the one night but, last year, uknown to me we weren't. Not a problem until I came to change our ressie (twice  ) when better rates came out. I then queried the fact that the original deposits hadn't been credited back to my cc. I was more than a little embarrassed when I was told that I hadn't paid any deposits on the original bookings! It all worked out in the end.

Have a great time! :cool1:

Mustn't forget that we've paid already. Don't want to end up paying twice. It's expensive enough!
