Booking two nights, different guests each night question?

I just added another "home" resort to my collection, GCV! So excited! We are locals and I've been wanting to get some points here to stay a night or two each year.

So my plan right now is to book two consecutive nights next October for my daughter's 10th bday. The plan is to have myself, my daughter and 7 of her friends spend the night the first night, go to Storytellers café for breakfast the next morning and then spend the day swimming at the pool with her friends being picked up at 4ish. I wanted to do two nights so that we still have the room to have lunch and so that my other two kids could come back the second night to spend the night and we'll do the parks the next morning.

What is the best way to have the different guests each night? I'm guessing booking two separate reservations but I want to be guaranteed that we won't have to change rooms. Anyone do something similar before?!

You have some options:
Book two separate reservation and have a "continuing reservation" notice placed on both reservation of the other reservation number.
Book one reservation, place all the first day's guests on the reservation, on the 2nd day when the kids get ready to go home, go to the front desk and change the names on the reservation.
Book one reservation, place all the first day's guests on the reservation, on the 2nd day do nothing, as long as you do not go over the room occupancy limits of the room DVC does not have to know who is physically in the room.

Trying to change the names midstream is difficult if DL is like WDW. I'd book the room and see if they'll let you put all names initially. If they won't, and they likely won't, when you check in just give them the info and they can add it in the comments on the account.

By making two different reservations your children on day 2-3 will have access to the room door, and any locked areas around the resort, including the pool, if it is gated.

Yes but if I make two separate reservations, I may possible need to check out of the first room by 11 but I want to be able to have lunch back at the room with my daughter and her friends.
