Booking trip that overlaps use years

I have a September use year. We're planning a trip next year that begins in August at a non home resort. I have banked 2015 points that I need to use. Can I book the August portion online at 8am and then call at 9am to add the days in September. Or would i have to wait until 7 months from September 1st to book and them have them linked?
