I'm getting ready to book our April trip to DL on the kids fly free deal. My question is. Which do I want to book? The Karmel Shuttle or the DL express bus? They both work out it appears to be the same cost. We have used the Karmel shuttle before, and would do it again. I just don't know if the DL bus would be more fun, faster etc. Can anyone give me any suggestions?

Thanks!:)

I've always used SuperShuttle - $10 from SNA to DL.
The Disneyland bus is more expensive and runs less often.

I don't remember seeing SuperShuttle as an option on the Alaska Airlines package. I will go back and see. Thats a good price that you got! I wonder what it would be from LAX to DL? We can fly more direct to LAX than to Orange county. On Karmel the kids where kids "ride" for free, but the DL bus was the same cost, and we would have to pay for the kids. :)

You might also check Long Beach Airport. I booked from Seattle, on Alaska, and was able to get the kids fly free and a direct flight.

Of the two- I would go with the shuttle. The bus is a pain, in my opinion. It holds a lot of people (think grayhound bus in size). It takes people to every hotel. So, if you are at the begining its not bad if you are at the end it takes forever! And then when you go back you have to go to a transfer station where they divide people according to which airport they are going to.

Edit- and if you want to do super shuttle just book them on your own if Alaska isnt offering it as an option.

Thanks for suggestion on flying into Long Beach, I forgot about checking there. Being in Eugene we have a hard time finding more direct flights so we have always flown into LAX.

I also am off to check prices on the Shuttles. I think you are right that the DL bus would take a lot longer. I could just book the Shuttle separately and do what ever is best I hadn't really thought about it. I was trying to put everything together.

Thanks for all the suggestions hlbtimes2 and Iggipolka. I really appreciate the input.

not to hijack a thread, but we just booked our air (yay!!!) and are now looking at shuttles, where do I find info on the Disneyland shuttle and my other options?

We have used both the Karmel shuttle and the disneybus. If you are staying at the DLH the bus is ok, goes right there first, only problem is waiting for your scheduled time. Karmel Shuttle works great, appx a 10 minute wait for it to show up, and it was right on time to take us back to the airport. Also, we always seem to be the only ones on that shuttle, which is nice, but not a guarantee. Sounds like you will have fun in April, where are you staying? We are in the Portland area, enjoying the rain......

I tried the long beach idea, but we would have to fly from here to Portland or Seattle. I think we will just go from here to LAX we still have to stop in Medford but we don't have to get off the plane. It just lands picks up and drops off passengers and we fly off. I still haven't had time to check into Shuttles, but since we are going to try the HOJO this trip I think the shuttle idea would be better. Thanks again everyone for the suggestions.

Abby's mom, It is pouring down rain down here in Eugene also. Yuck! Is it cold up there? :confused3

HOJO is good, you will enjoy it. Ask for a room away from the freeway, we had a great time there. You can see the fireworks from the parking lot.

It's raining like mad here this am, but at least it warmed up to the 40's.....
