Went to SSR last year with my family and hoping to go back next year.
Looking at the current online deals they have the two bedroom villa listed as the biggest accommodation but as there are nine of us wanting to go it sill is quite big enough. I know the tree house villas sleep nine but can you book these from the UK and do we still get the same offers as the rest of the resort (Free dining and 35% off).
Will call them tomorrow but wondering if anyone here knew so I could be prepared.

You can certainly book them, but I have no idea whether you can do so through a package with Disney UK. I would imagine the cheapest option, though, would be to rent points from a DVC member.

There are only 60 Treehouses so I would doubt that they would be discounted as most of them will only be able to be booked by DVC member they can charge top $$$$ for any cash ones.

Doesn't seem to be a problem to book them as a package (with free dining) but there wasn't any available for the two weeks we want to go (Oct 2013).
Could this be because they haven't released them yet or because there are so few available for cash customers that they book this far in advance?
Think we may just leave my husband at home that would solve the problem.

If you really want a Treehouse I would look in to renting points from a DVC member and book at the 11 month window as I would say it would be very very unlikely you will get one to book through Disney UK.

Disney US allocates the rooms available for Disney UK to sell and they can sell the Treehouses easily especially as there is only likely to be 1 or 2 available for cash bookings at any one time therefore despite Disney UK saying you could book one I doubt you would get the availbility.

The 2 bedrooms at OKW sleep 9 - if that is any use?

Is a 2-bed for 9-guest the first priority or is it the Treehouse Villas?

If it's a 2-bed for 9-guest then there are 3-DVC resorts that Disney promote on their US web site for 9-guest. That being the case, you might try your luck and phone up and request any of those 3-resorts, OKW, AKV or BTL.

The UK web site still only indicates a maximum of 8-guest can be accommodated, whereas on the US site you can book 9-guest in say an OKW 2-bed.

OKW was updated recently and all the 1-beds and 2-beds had a single sleeper chair added in their living rooms, this is also where the queen sofa bed is placed, so the living room can sleep up to 3-US guest and if so why shouldn't it be able to sleep 3-UK guest.

On the UK Disney web site click on 'Places to Stay' under 'Planning your Holiday,' then click on 'Disney's Deluxe Villa,' then click on 'Disney's Old Key West Resort'. On the various pages about OKW, there's no mention of how many guest can be accommodated in each room type.

But, while you're on the UK web page 'Disney's Old Key West Resort Overview', scroll down the page to the bottom left hand corner and under 'Select an International Version:' click on 'USA English'

You're then on the US web site and it you search for OKW by clicking on 'Deluxe Villas' under 'Places to Stay,' then click on 'Disney's Old Key West Resort' then click on 'Room Types & Pricing' (which is not on the UK site) and under 'Room Type' it shows that 9-guest can be accommodated in a 2-bed.

Would be interested to hear customer services response if you ask them this question and if you do good luck.

Will try again and reply to this, Third time lucky. (stupid computer has a life of it own).
Think the free dining savings (my husband will not go on holiday without one) mean that renting points would cost too much.

The important thing is that we have somewhere that sleep the nine of us.
I had been thinking the same about OKW, that their one bed villas sleep 5 and studios four which would have suggested at two bed sleeps 9. And yes they offer this on the US site, but not the UK site which only sleeps up to 8 in a two bed villa, although when looking under accommodation that sleeps more than 5 on the UK site OKW is listed as sleeping 9 (along with animal kingdom villas, which you can book online, and the contemporary) .
Think another phone call is required.

Good luck and if you don't get a positive response with the phone call then ask them to put their reasons in writing as you wish to take this on as a complaint, sometimes bluffing gets a result and best wishes for that.

Apart from being a great relaxing resort, an OKW 2-bed is also one of the biggest on site being about 1330 square feet while the 2-beds at SSR are about 1075 square feet and thanks for trying a third time.
