I'm wondering how far out tours usually need to be booked? Is it something you need to plan as far in advance as an ADR or could you decide you wanted to do one tomorrow and still be able to join one?
We've taken 3 tours and booked all 3 of them when we were onsite. I should stress that those tours were during the "slow" season in January or September.
They were
Keys to the Kingdom (just DH - DD is too young) I booked it for him as a surprise and had multiple days to choose from. Booked it the day before he took it.
Wild Africa Trek - again took it in September and booked it the day before. I did it at Guest Relations and early in the trip so I knew we'd have some flexibility.
Behind the Seeds tour (epcot) - booked it the day of - but that's very normal for that tour they are usually booking that day.
If taking Keys to the Kingdom, I would probably book early, it is the most popular and does fill up. The others, not so much. But once you decide on one you want to go on, I would book it.
