Hi!!

Booking a birthday trip to DLRP tonight for May. :goodvibes

We're going to book NPB as the 40% is on there for our dates, and it's the only lake hotel I've not stayed at.

Would you pay extra for Lake View? (£45)
Or Admirals Floor? (£45)
Or Admirals Floor Lake View (£96)

I'm thinking no, as we did at SL and had no view at all. And even with lake view it's not like it's park view or anything.

The room quality is all the same, right?

hmmm - to be honest, NBC is so huge that I'd be tempted to pay the extra for Admirals floor. Admirals floor rooms are in the main part of the building from what I gather, and so are a lot closer to the entrance to the hotel than rooms in the wings (which are seriously what feel like miles away!).

Hopefully some NBC'ers can confirm or deny about Admirals floor?

would pay extra for Admiral's floor, but not lake-view. Lake view is not worth extra money.

Oh, from what I read Admirals floor is across the entire top floor of the hotel - wings'n'all.

Isila - why would you pay the extra for it?

We stayed Admirals floor and didn't have a lake view I preferred our view we could see the studios and could hear TOT!

If you aren't worried I would save the money for spending etc! I don't remember much benefit of having Admirals floor when we stayed! I havent stayed in a standard room there though!

not sure :rotfl: just read reviews it's worth it. And sounds more fun with separate check in
We booked NPB Admiral's floor lake view lats year, but then changed to HNY. And when staying in HNY I understood I didn't care for the view at all

the "separate check-in" at the NBC is just a couple of dedicated bits of the same counter as the normal check-in at reception there :).

but still more fun :lmao:

As Elaine says its just a couple of different people at the same checkin dealing with Admiral Floor Guests. We had to wait longer there than normal as there was a queue (about 3 other families waiting) but not for normal check in which didnt really make sense

We have stayed on admirals floor but don't really think there are enough benefits to make it worth paying for. Check in for us was about 5 minutes quicker than our friends who had a standard room and we were given a voucher for a free tea and coffee pack which they didn't get. We had only booked admirals floor as there is no choice if you need a family room. :goodvibes

We're staying Admirals floor but only because we were able to upgrade under a better offer - and standard rooms weren't available under the offer. Personally I don't think the perks are worth the extra £ ..... but I'm very happy I've got one now. :goodvibes

I wouldn't bother paying for a lakeside view unless a balcony was guaranteed - and as it's not I don't think it's worth it.

I think the room size/quality is exactly the same - the perks (!) seem to be the dedicated check-in, kettle/tea/coffee pack, the location of the room, and free towel hire for the pool which for two of you won't make a great deal of difference! With a family of 4 (or as in our case 5 of us) it could save a bit more but knowing my luck it will rain cats and dogs every day of our stay! :rotfl2:

What have you decided on? :)

We actually put our sensible hats on last night and as of yet haven't booked.....but I think I might crack and just book it anyway before the weekend is out!

A Disney birthday is just too tempting!

I think we'll just go standard room, non lake side. As to be honest we've never sat and wished we had a view at DLRP like we do in WDW, as we're there for such a short time when we are in the room it's either to sleep at night or for a quick nap before we head out again. (Or in the case of our January DLH trip, to warm up!)

If I pay the extra for Admirals floor or a view, and don't feel like I get my money's worth I'll just feel let down. So I may as well just go basic and save the extra money to spend on birthday presents for myself!

Torsie, fwiw, I think you are doing the right thing. I cannot remember a time at DLRP when we really looked out of the window - always too busy in the Parks/getting dressed for the Parks/asleep :thumbsup2. Even the first trip at DLH we had a ground floor room with doors/patio/chairs/table and barely used them which was a shame, but we were just too busy elsewhere!

We haven't paid extra for a lake view at HNY as I know we just won't appreciate it - neither will the girls! :lmao: Would rather have the money to spend there.

As for Admirals Floor - are the rooms any better located? I guess you could book standard room and email asking nicely for a centrally located room - if you are going when it isn't too busy I'm sure you will get your request :goodvibes.

Hope you get booked soon and the offer is still available (that happened to me in Jan, offer was pulled for SL for 30% off, to nothing overnight :scared1:). As it happens we've ended up getting discounted APs with a good RO rate so it worked out better for us in the end anyway :thumbsup2

I wouldn't pay extra for a view at DLRP, for the reasons you said and I don't think DLRP has many balconies to enjoy the view on, its not the same just looking out of the window. (Unless money was no object and I could afford a castle club park view room!) . I would upgrade for extra services though.

I would upgrade for extra services though.

Completely agree. Like if AF had the private breakfast or afternoon tea etc then I'd do it.

But from what I see even the perks (like in room continental breakfast) have to be paid for. And we don't drink much tea and coffee.

So I think standard is the best option.

Although now looking at it I don't see standard as an option. Going to give them a call at lunchtime.
