Will someone please confirm this is a good deal as its sooo much money and the first time we've done Florida!

21 days
25th August - 15th September 2013
Port Orleans Resort
upgraded to the Disney Dining Plan
Disney Tickets
Pre Advance Virgin Flights
2 Adults 3 Children (9,7 and 2)

£7300

It seems good compared to First choice etc who initially quoted £10,109! Just want a Disney expert to say yes!

Thanks

Is this with the Free Dining Plan upgraded? 21 day ultimates, yes? Standard room at POR?

Either way I have to say it does look a good price on some very rough calculations and approximations I just made based on this years pricings.

Yes I upgraded the dining plan so we have a sit down meal each day! I prefer healthier options and I find quick service meals often quite dull!

21 day ultimates and basic family room at POR...

Your room, tix & DDP would cost £3,880 less 4% Quidco with Disney.co.uk = £3,725, that leaves £3,575 for your flights divided by 5 people thats £715/ seat.
As far as package deals go its probably about as good as you will get, DIY I would expect to save around £500 for those dates, after around 20th Aug you drop to low season.

Thanks Id normally go DIY but the flight quotes I was getting were astonomical! Any idea when prices come down for flights?

Im waiting to see if she rings tonight to take the booking!

For your dates you can't book VA flights until after 15th Oct this year, flight only for DIY trips are only available 11th from your return date. Any prices you see now are for estimated quotes or Flydrives. You won't get a true price until Sept. If you want to book now then teh package holiday is teh only way to do it.

Sounds like a great deal :) We are staying at OKW too (2 adults, 3 kids) in a one bed villa.

Just had a look, car hire is included but insurance isn't. You only get an intermediate so you might want to upgrade (showing free up available to SUV) but without paying for upgrade your insurance would be £ 457.15 extra

Personally i would just totally ignore the car rental and book it seperately, same dates this year would cost you £316.20 fully insured (maybe even cheaper in tomorrows sale) £457.15 is too high for insurance.

As for OKW, we are going back for the 4th time in July, great resort.

everyone will get a free car for there stay, remember you have to pay for the insurance
Paul

OKW looks like a great choice. So much so that I may have accidentally priced up a trip for us for 2013.... :rolleyes1

Taking into account its 3 weeks instead of 2, 21 day tix intead of 14, A Deluxe resort instead of moderate and DDP instead of QSDDP I am not sure you can compare the 2 holidays. Always possible it will be in a sale but its a gamble.

I was quoting her on the port Orleans and for an extra week for £2500 seemed quite a lot I did a quote for August and it was working out the same at oct at time 21 day tickets are only £200 more than 14 day tickets plus I'm paying for an extra child so I thought she should look around a bit more

OKW is a GREAT resort!!!!

OKW is a fab resort ,stayed there in 2010 and hopefully going back in 2013.

Thanks for the reassurance guys!

I know DIY may have been cheaper but im glad Iv booked and I can move on to the next stage of planning :cool1:!

Looking forward to a little bit of luxury this year, what surprises me is that the actual resorts didnt vary in price to much depending on value, moderate or deluxe. The value reorts (bar AOA) when dining plans and tickets were added were the same price?!?

Wont complain though, looks a gorgeous place to go for a stroll in the evening to tire the kids out!

:-)

Anyone who can point me in the direction of any good trip reports on this hotel?

Thanks everyone!

Just ask anything you want to know.

Ill see you in a few hours, I may be busy for a while! :rotfl2:

OKW is a better option for three week stay as you will have more room & space than a regular Port Orleans hotel room.

Three weeks of dining plan at Disney - boy that's a lot of food.

Car insurance will need to be paid as some have said - but think its good to have a car for a 3 week stay, as you may want to 'get away' from Disney property now and again (eg Sea World, Universal/Harry Potter, Shopping Malls, etc).
