There's two different paths. You can search for your rooms ahead of time and then when the availability calendar comes up, click "book" at 8, or you can wait until 8:00 to hit Search in the first place. I've had better luck with the latter.

99% of the time if I search prior to 8:00 I get an error that I am not in my booking window when trying to click book at 8:00. I have better luck with searching right at 8:00.

ETA: To clarify what I usually do is that I am already in the search results and then click Update right at 8:00.

Is the day before your desired check-in date available too?

If so, just book it now for 7 nights, checking in one day early. Then, any time after 8 (but no rush), modify the reservation and slide it back one day to the correct check-in date.

Thank you for taking the time to answer. No. The day before, which is my actual check in day is not available. It was gone on Monday.

I actually did what you suggest for the first part of my trip with a one bedroom standard view at GFVs (I saw it was available and walked it for about a week).

After rereading everyone’s posts, Im not exactly sure the best place is for me to start for a slight milli second advantage.

I've had the most success by getting to the point where available rooms are showing and then at 8 AM I hit refresh. If I hit the Continue button right at 8 AM instead of refresh, I get the warning that I'm too early.

Thank you!! This is what I did and I got the rooms. I still need the first and last night but got five consecutive. I put in a WL for the first night (cant do the last night until after March 16) and the full week. After March 16, Ill cancel that and put a WL in for October 16. Besides that, Ill stalk the first and last night.

I was driving to my daughter’s to babysit and thought I would be there before 8 am to do all this but so much traffic and an accident. If my dh saw me, he would have freaked! At 750 am, on the Garden State Parkway, I got in the right lane and looked for a good area to pull off the side of the road. At 755 am, I pulled over on the NJ Garden State Parkway shoulder, with my flashers on and got myself ready for 8 am‍.Did what you suggested above and got the five consecutive days that showed up last night.

So happy! At 7 months, I got four nights in a one bedroom standard view at GFVs and need two more nights for a week at BW for October 5-16. If October 16-17 become abailable, I may take that too.

I recently had no luck exactly at 8 BUT when I checked 45 minutes later my dates mysteriously were available. for curiosity sake I checked several other times later that day and no further availability for those dates! guess I just got very lucky.

I've had this happen too. People are constantly shifting things around each morning 8:00 - 8:30 AM Eastern at/around the 7 month mark. It pays to keep checking even if something is gone right away.

When you say “I hit refresh”, What do you actually “hit”?
Is there actually something labeled “refresh” to click on?

I click on the page refresh for my browser. On my phone, it's just a matter of pulling the page down with my finger and releasing it to refresh a page. On my laptop, it's in the upper left corner of my browser.

Also, October 9 showed up and I'm all done! This is the first time in MANY years, I got exactly what I wanted
at 7 months exactly at 7 months and don't have to stalk. I feel like I'm lost LOL
