The new missus and I want to travel to Florida in September.

The dining plan appeals and we want to use it *but* we probably will be staying onsite for 14 days and hiring a car and doing some exploring for some of that time. Therefore we dont want the dining plan for the full 14 days.

I know that you cant get a 14 day ultimate ticket and put 7 days dining on it (this would be the best option), so we want to buy a 7 day ticket with dining seperate from our room reservation. Can anyone tell me how to do this ? It just doesnt seem possible on the disney website.

The alternative is 2 seperate 7 day room reservations one with tickets and dining and one without but we run the risk of having to change rooms in the middle (which was the whole point of staying onsite for 14 days !) :confused3

Hello there and welcome to the Dis (again - I did it on another thread ;) )

My understanding is that the dining plan needs to be booked for the entire length of stay. You have already suggested what my comment would be - to book 2 x 7 night stays.

I would think if you get the reservations noted & "linked" (this depends on who you book with - may I recommend Dreams Unlimited who are sponsors of this site? Dreams Unlimited ) you would hopefully not have to move.

Anyone else got any ideas please??

mnoble, do you have a resort in mind to stay at?

The best way would be to do two separate bookings on the hotel - if it is with the same hotel then there wont be a room change. You then need to decide which part you want to put the dining plan.

We have got the dining plan for AKl but not when we are going to GF - but have park tickets for the whole stay.

Give them a ring they are really helpful with regard to the dining plan. :flower:

It will just mean you have 2 reservations - when you check in just remind them that you have the 2 reservations so that they tie them up to keep the same room. :flower:

Thanks for the help everyone !

I have made the booking for the 1st week, and am 'in discussions' for the 2nd. My wife isnt quite as passionate about Disney as I am (though didn't put up much of a fight about this trip strangely) and is suggesting we take our chances with a cheap motel for the 2nd week. We've done it before using local coupon books getting the Howard Johnson in Kissimmee for much cheaper than we could have booking in advance ($29 a night).

So thats flight booked, and 1st week in Disney (1st week September) sorted wohoo !!

All I need to do is hope the free dining offer is on this year and then upgrade for the week ! (or even book two !)

Oh my you need to convert your wife :teeth:

Which hotel have you chosen for your first week at Disney??
