Has anyone ever done this? I see that on .fr the prices can be significantly cheaper due to the euro rate, and wondered if we could use our English card to pay for it online and have no problems on arrival at on-site hotels?

Hi Jonathon

I have not booked via the french site but I have booked via the belgium, english and irish one, all without problems :goodvibes (i live in Holland)

Hi Jonathan,

I'm in the UK and have done exactly that - booked through the French offer of the official DLP site. I phoned my bank first to make sure the transaction wouldn't be blocked by my bank, and remember you'll have a foreign currency transaction fee levied by your bank (mine was 2.75% I think). It still made my trip around £200 cheaper, even with the UK offers going around, booking using the French offer for my dates.

I phoned DLP in France to book, but you can do it online just as well. You will get your confirmation email in French, but everything is in exactly the same place on the email that it would be in English, and I know from lots of people on this board that theres no problem at check-in at all :).

Thanks very much, I'm amazed as it's about £200 cheaper (even then I don't think it's the best deal).. but there really is a big difference!..

Do you have the french number anywhere at all? I must admit I'd prefer phone booking as we can do the usual deposit option then (..why haven't they offered a 10% deposit option online after all this time?!)...

The number for Guest Services in DLP is 00 33 1 60 30 60 53 (call a discount dial number first like 0844 200 9090 from your UK landline to get the call for 0.5p per minute).

Fair warning - they may not allow you to pay a deposit (they know you are calling from the UK, it comes up on their system when they answer your call), so although you can get the French price, you may need to pay the full amount when you book (thats what happened to me, in January, for an April trip).

Just tried to book under the french offer, and it seems that over the phone they want a french address otherwise it goes under uk prices, perhaps that's new?

no - you just need to have a little perseverance :). First time I called Guest Services, the CM insisted on putting me through to the UK booking line. So I just put the phone down when I was on hold, waited 10 minutes, phoned back again, and this time spoke to a lovely CM who was happy to let me book using the French offer.

Ah, I'm just trying to use the french site to book instead now, it has FRANCE at the end of the address nut i've put in my normal address, let's see if it works :) (makes no difference if you'd need to pay in full any way).

Worked it out and it's about £650 for Cheyenne for 4 nights. I don't think that's too bad?

you should have no problems booking online, just leave France as the country, after you've completed the rest of your address details correctly :).

Booked!!! :)

It accepted my usual address with FRANCE at the end (which I'm sure would be ignored if they ever did post anything to you due to post-code, can get away with it as in Jersey anyway :P).

Thanks very much, as said.. I don't think £650 is too bad for 4 nights at Cheyenne! :) :cool1:

great stuff :goodvibes!

We plan on using the French site to book our tickets as there is a special on the French site. We're starting with one day tickets and will cost us $254 for 3A, 1C vs $396 on the US site. If we end up deciding on going the next day as well, it will cost $558 vs $739. Nice savings!!! Plus one of my credit cards doesn't have a foreign transaction fee!!!! So glad I decided to look :cool1:
