Booking the V and A Chef's table

Hey all -

Quick question...my husband and I did the Chef's table a few years ago and want to try for it again.

Has the procedure for booking changed? I know there is now a separate phone number - does it still open at 7 am EST?

And is it still not offered on Mondays and Saturdays (at least I think those were the days)? Or have they expanded it to every day?

I can say that it is definitely available on at least some Monday's, as I just got a call for an opening on the wait list for an upcoming Monday. I'm sure someone else can answer the other questions. Good luck!

The line opens at 9AM. we just booked for October about two weeks ago.

I'm wondering if the policies have changed since I booked it a couple years ago. Last time I called for V&A, I used the main dining number at 7am and pressed the appropriate number to the prompt, "If you are making a reservation at Victoria and Albert's, press..."

I wasn't able to get the Chef's Table, and they didn't allow the 180+10 perk. They told me that I had to call exactly 180 days out for Chef's Table, but they could book the main dining room with the +10 perk.

Since then, others have posted that they were able to book the (+10) for Chef's Table. It seems so inconsistent.

I haven't tried calling the direct line.

BriarRosie, we did the 180+10...I called a few days ahead on the direct line to ask what time to call and they told me to call at 9AM on the direct line (date we called to book was a Sunday...wonder if that made a difference).

They have definitely changed the policies! We called the direct line at 9am EST. I didn't get through and kept going to voicemail, so I kept redialling, assuming I had missed the Chef's Table but wanted to hear that from whoever answered.

They had already booked Oct 24th but I gave her our BCV reservation number and dates. She said they do the 180+10 so we booked our chef's table for our trip. I thought it was too easy and too good to be true but the confirmation email arrived a few minutes later for the Chef's Table.

It was sooooo much less stress than the last time we tried for the Chef's Table!!!

Yes, booking at V&A has certainly changed, both for Chef's Table and for the regular dining room. Last year, I couldn't book the regular dining room on-line. This year, I did. And you're correct - last year, there was no direct dial for V&A. This year there is.
