Does anyone have information on how to do this? Do I call for a reservation 60 days out just like a regular ADR? Do I call Napa Rose directly and can I do it more than 60 days in advance?

Thanks!

You have to call Napa Rose directly and I believe you can make it more than 60 days out. I called and left a message one morning and they called me back early afternoon to confirm. I would recommend calling today and seeing if they will take your reservation, and if they can't they should be able to tell you how far out they will let you book.

You can call them anytime after 5pm to make a reservation. We called a week out or so before and booked it.

This.

Thanks! I knew it last year when we tried to do this but Napa Rose was closed during that time. Hoping to give it a whirl this year!

It was a GREAT experience. I attended in October 2014, and it's in my TR in my signature below. I did a pretty extensive write up on the meal/experience, and it is something anybody who likes food should try.

The eating times are indeed at 5:30 and at 8:30. And here is a picture of what the Chef's Counter looks like.

There are two sections of four seats as pictured above and one section of six seats at the dessert counter. Make sure you leave a solid 2.5 to 3 hours to fully enjoy the meal and experience. First time we did it did not leave enough time for a show we had planned afterwords.

Throw the menu away, the only reason to do the Chef's counter is the Chef's creation where they customize your meal for you.

If you at all like wine...even a smidge, get the wine pairing where they pair a wine with each course and your tastes. I honestly do not like wine and it is the first time I EVER had a glass that I liked!

I must chime in here. I was under the impression that they created CUSTOM DISHES for you. When you let the Chef choose, they just select the meal FOR YOU off the menu. Nothing special about it.

Nearly every pairing for me was spot-on. I felt it a good value.

They will create and customize them to your tastes if you engage the Chef and get into specific discussions about a dish or options...but you are correct, if you just say "ship it" the will build a meal based on a preset list of options tweaking for any likes or dislikes...although usually assembled in a way for each course to make a good flowing meal.

Many of the courses I have had were not on the regular menu...some where though.

We spoke with them, asked questions throughout the meal, and all gave our preferences. They just made dishes off the menu, nothing more. I was pretty disappointed in that aspect of the meal. It was a great meal, don't get me wrong, but not the custom dining experience I was expecting. I don't want anybody else to get caught by surprise as I was which is why I'm expressing the experience.

We are going in May and were able to book in early March. We called Napa Rose directly and had no problem booking.
