Hi everyone!

My wife and I are first time DCL cruisers, booked on the Disney Magic in April. Since our booking window opens the latest, in February, am wondering if we have any chance to get reservations for either Remi or Palo. Any advice or suggestions? Also, exactly what time on the booking window date does the system start accepting reservations?

Thanks in advance for any responses!

Palo is the only upcharge on The Magic, Remy is on The Dream and Fantasy.

I was a first time cruiser on Disney Magic in September 2022. I didnt get any availability when my booking window opened. However on Embarkation Day the dining team is available and they have spaces available. The dining team were in Promenade Lounge, which is now Soul Cat Lounge from 12.30pm. As soon as you get on the ship go directly there and be aware there may be a queue. I was able to get Palo Brunch on The Disney Magic for the first sea on my 2022 cruise. The dining host / maître d will verbally tell you the time and date of the reservation or put you on a wait list and then the reservation information will appear on the App a few hours later.

Depending on time of year, you might get lucy. If Palo is a priority, try to book that first over anything else.

It really depends on how many higher tier castaway club members are sailing on your cruise. If it's one of the more standard itineraries like Caribbean you may not have so many Platinum, Gold and Silver cruisers. We're silver and we've been on cruises with so many golds and platinums that everything was booked by the time our window opened. Our upcoming cruise though has a lot of first timers so when our silver window opened lots was available.

Our first cruise was on the Magic in late April several years ago. We booked it at a last minute discount rate and by the time we booked everyone's windows had already opened but we actually were able to book Palo so there is a chance.

If you don't get it right away keep checking a few times a day leading up to your cruise. Bookings do pop up now and then as people change their plans.

My mistake! We’re on the Dream 4/26 for five nights and the the Magic to Lighthouse Point on 9/9 for four nights. At least for the latter we won’t be first time cruisers!

Being in Los Angeles, I can try for advance reservations at 9 pm PDT, right?

Thanks for the good advice! Assuming I won’t get anything when my window opens, it’s nice to know there’s still a chance when we get onboard.

Your activity booking for this cruise opens at midnight ET on February 11, 2024, so 9pm PT February 10, 2024. It will change on the App automatically, you just need to refresh.

On The Dream the dining team is outside Enchanted Garden on Deck 2. I was Silver on my August 2023 cruise on The Dream and couldn't get Palo, but on Embarkation Day I got Palo Brunch for my first sea day. I had a 12pm PAT and was on the ship at 12.30pm and went straight down to Enchanted Garden.

and the the Magic to Lighthouse Point on 9/9 for four nights.
Being Silver, does not mean it will be any easier. Your activity booking for this cruise opens at midnight ET on June 11, 2024 so 9pm PT on June 10 2024.

You might actually have better odds on the Dream. Lighthouse Point is new so there will likely be more seasoned cruisers going to check it out.

Honestly though even when everything has been booked up when my window opens I’ve always been able to eventually get everything I want l, including Palo brunch before sailing by checking the website often.
