Booking Southwest on Points Question

Sorry, I've used the search function, but can't quite find the answer to what I'm looking for. I'm debating on getting a SW credit card, to build up the points (currently 40,000 earned for $1000 spent in the first 3 months). Would all of those credits be tied only to my account, or can I book for my entire family using them (without paying to transfer to each of their Rapid Rewards Accounts). I've googled online, and it looks like if I'm booking all the flights, then the 40,000 would apply to all that I'm booking, but just want to confirm before applying. Thanks!

If you can wait a bit, SWA has been offering 60,000 points for opening a new card. They’ve done this at least 3 times that I’ve seen in the past year.
