Booking Rooms on Official Disney Website

Why doesn't Disney allow you to select more than one room when you enter your original search criteria? We are 4 adults and want to book 2 rooms, hopefully adjoining or close to each other. But I'm not seeing how to select 2 rooms like most hotel websites do. It has: Build Your Vacation. You enter dates, number of adults, number of children, resorts. Am I missing something?

You need to call to book the 2 rooms and make your request for adjoining rooms.
Why? Their website isn't set up like some other hotel sites are.

Disney's hotel management systems are quite literally based on design and technology from the 1980s. If some functionality didn't exist in the 80s (and the internet didn't exist then), it doesn't exist now unless it is required by law or would save Disney large sums of money. Booking two rooms at a time does not meet either of those.

I just realized this a few weeks ago. My boss have 5 kids ranging from 10 to 23, they are in the process of planning and asked for my help. It was the first time i ever needed to look for 2 rooms and realized it wasn't an option. I suggested they get a travel agent instead of wasting time on the phone with disney

They could just book their 2 rooms online themselves, put 1 in the parents name & 1 in the 23 yo’s name. Then just a quick call to add a “traveling together” note to their reservations. They may also be able to do that with an online chat as well.

But why? Seems strange. I'm sure there's a reason but come on Disney get with it.
My 2 cents mean nothing but IF I had to come up with a reason I think it's because they want to make sure the guest truly wants ( maybe needs ) 2 rooms. If guests were booking 2 rooms because "maybe they'll need the extra room, it takes away other guest's opportunity to book those rooms. Just my guess.

I actually don't mind calling WDW at all. The key is getting a good person who is really knowledgeable. I suppose that's what getting a TA is for. I haven't used a TA for WDW in 20 years.

WOW! That was a very gutsy move! Hope you knew the TA, recommending an incompetent TA can wreck a trip before it’s even started. I’m having a mild panic attack at the idea of recommending my boss use some googled up Disney TA to book a Disney trip…

For future reference calling Disney is pretty NBD if it isn’t a release day for a new offer. I don’t think I’ve ever waited more than 10 mins (usually less) and their booking CMs are quite competent when it comes to booking hotels if you know the property you want.

This just reminded me of the long “ Holding “ for reserving a hotel room before the internet .
Disney did not have a toll free number and hour long waits on Hold and then getting your telephone bill in the mail to see the price for that long distance call!
Every other company seemed to have a free 1-800 number but not Disney!

Disney sinks all of its technology into dislodging customers from their money.
