Booking Room Reservations Question

All right, so I get that I have to book a 4 night stay with my Escape wedding. (No problem there!) However, WHEN do I have to book this stay by? I'm only asking because my grandparents are DVC holders, and they plan on putting us up in a DVC room for 7-10 nights. Their home resort is Vero Beach though, so they can't book it until 7 months out--- one month after I can book my Escape wedding!

So, do I book a room with the wedding and then just cancel it? Or perhaps just book a room for someone else in my party and change the name after I get my room booked? Oh, the dilemma...

I believe you need to have booked your room within 3 days of booking your wedding as they need the reservation number to draw up the LOA.

We didn't have to book our room before the contract could be drawn up.

I think the room thing is a little awkard and they are flexible. I think they just want you to have it before the wedding so they can add it on to the LOA. here is my scenario...and I am also a DVC member...I booked a reservation and counted the nights wrong...by accident I only book4 days and 3 nights...my head was in the clouds...so anyway I recieved my contract and then I called to mention it to Michelle and she said how no worries...get it done as soon as you can and then let me know...well I felt like I was cheating so I immediatley called and added the extra night but it had to be at a different resort...when I was faxing my signed contract back to DFTW I just wrote the name of the resort and extra check in day on the contract and they were fine with that...well now two months later I get a letter from DISNEY saying that the resort that I booked for the additional night is having a bit of refurb work done...so I cancelled the night and didn't rebook any new night yet becuase I am now interested in changing my whole entire resort option...so very long story short I currently only have three nights books as of today...will possibly cancel those three nights some time in the near future and book a four night stay at the Contemporary....HTH
