Booking room only through Disney.com

Looking into trip next fall and have a few questions on booking a room only through disney.com

1. If I book now, and they offer a price discount later, can you still receive the discount?

2. I know a deposit is due at time of booking, but when is the balance due and can I make payments?

3. If I make room only reservations, can I add free dining if it becomes available?

Yes you can add a discount if avilable for your room type. Payment on room only is due at checkin but you can call and make payments over the phone. As far as I know you usually (maybe always?) need tickets to get dining plan but am not sure about this. I have room only over Easter and called and got $500 discount for trip. I plan to get season passes when we go for Thanksgiving.

1. You can add a discount if your room type/resort is included and there are still rooms available with the discount. Having a room booked already gives you no advantage to the limited number of rooms that allow discounts.

2. Balance is due at the time of arrival. You can make payments.

3. Yes and no. You would need to cancel your room only and rebook as a package. FD requires a minimum ticket purchase (with the package, not through a separate retailer). Your room only money paid would be refunded and a new deposit of $200 would be due. It can not be transferred. Balance would be due 45 days before arrival for a package.

The above is all very much correct except that for 2016 packages, the balance is due 30 days before arrival (vs 45 previously).

Also; if you change to a package, you will be allowed to make payments online or by calling. With RO, it's only by calling

You cannot stack discounts so if you qualify for more than one special offer (e.g. room rate discount and a free dining offer) you will have to do the math to see which will save you the most money.
