I would advise against this.. I had read this on here and it did not work out well for us this week. When we arrived Friday night at New York Hotel, we were told that they had only reserved a room big enough for 1 person. They said there were no rooms large enough for us available. (We have 3 people and a baby who sleeps in a crib) It was really horrible - we were at the desk over an hour. They wanted to put us in some other room and charge us the difference (couple hundred EU's) The manager refused to come out and speak to us. Eventually they offered us a room with a bunk bed - and we had to explain many times that the baby could not sleep in a bunk bed and my mother-in-law could not sleep in the top bunk! Finally, they said they had a room they would give us with 2 beds, and all we had to pay extra was about 10EU tax for the additional 2 adults. The front desk staff was terrible, as was the manager - atleast compared to what I am used to in WDW. They said it was entirely our fault and that they didn't have to do anything to help us! We explained that there is no option on the website to book a room without tickets.
We were very annoyed because on our last trip 2 years ago - we booked a room with tickets (the only way possible to book it) and were told we could apply the value of the tickets toward annual passes, but when we arrived we were told that the tickets had no value, because they were part of a package and so we could not apply their value to annual passes.

We did not want that to happen again - so we booked the room for one person this time and still got messed up!
The front desk staff reccomendation was to call them and book the room - or book online and then call them and change the number of people in the room. I think they also tried to say that we could use some kind of tour company to book a room - which doesn't make sense to me. Why would Disney want to give a third party company some of the money for the booking and not take it directly themselves?
