For some reason I am hitting a roadblock and I must be missing something obvious that is unclear to me. Can someone help? I have never booked an AP vacation before and always a full package through Disney.

Were fixing to buy AP for a few upcoming trips after talking ourselves out of the DVC for another year and test run that option.

We are on the mailing list and read mousesavers like mad and found the AP room discount and DH narrowed down dates for vacation for work that we could do. Mousesavers recommends going through Small World Vacations or another Disney Travel Agent or booking through Disney with the code.

DH called Disney and gave them the code - notta, the discount was invalid and not what they had. We went back to the screen still the black and white is even updated to reflect the new dates with a AP discount of rooms only. Disney disputes the % off. Tried to tell us the GC was better, for us the AP is due to the trips we want to make. Now if we could do the GC and up grade once there and score both then maybe but we dont need 3-4 trips in one years time to Disney and not be on AP.

We sent off a quote through Small World. There is no telephone number that I can find and the person I keep getting can not read the 'How can I help you' memo section you write in when you finish all the bubbles. I request the QS plan etc and so on and have an extra ? that can not be asked in a bubble form. I get an email saying

"unable to provide you with a price quote at this time. We book a minimum of three consecutive nights at one of Disney's Value Resorts when booking a package; five consecutive night minumum at value resorts for room only reservations."

Well I requested the AP code that MS is giving out that states and I did it for 4 nights with a plan. I requested also one with out the dining plan in the memo section that was ignored because below the following line it says you can add dining. Which leads me to think its an option. I even put the code in the bubble section for no mistake.

"Save 35% at Disney Value Resorts when you stay 1-3 nights; save 40% when you stay 4 nights or longer"

Of course there is no way to contact them other than to request another quote.

So at the bottom of mousesavers it says you can contact your travelagent or whatever. How are AP ppl booking this???? :(

I have always made my reservations directly with disney. That's what I would do, then if you need changes or book something you might want to change to a different room type, you can call. When you book through a travel agent, they have to do this. I have never in all my visits had a problem with booking myself directly with WDW. Tha's just what I would do. I think Mousesavers recommends their advertizers etc which is good but I don't think it's really necessary. The CMs at Disney are usually great to work with and they'll keep checking things for you if you have to.

Thats me, we have always booked Disney. So when Dh called into book it with the code they said they could not book it. I suppose this is where I am lost.

Yes, it seems with the Deluxe hotels especially (all types of rooms/views) the Standard room wasn't available for the week of Feb 5, 2010. We tried when we got a 40% code in Oct and only could get Woods. The Disney Visa code at the time had none either. When the AP code came out I've checked daily none-not even woods since the AP code is 45%. That can happen (and I'm still checking nothing) They did have the rooms with the 750 giftcard but we would end up with so many tickets that way that we don't really need. Yes, I know they're good for future upgrades, but since so many of the offers have them included and the last 2 offers length of stay not just 1 day passes. We have 4 now and were going to use 3 to upgrade to APs, so the 750 offer would leave us with those as well. If they had the standard room avail, it would have been a little savings (plus end up with 1 5 day and our orig 4 one day) but would have been worth it. I haven't had as much problem with having AP disconts with Values/mods. Just my experience though. I think more of the higher priced rooms are being put out for the AP discounts as well. We were lucky to get a standard room at CBR with the 30% code, but I bet if an AP or better discount comes out the preferred will be the only rooms and they could be better price (or not!)

I'm another one that does their own travel arrangements. I would call Disney myself and do all the booking, just have your codes ready. As for the AP discount, (this is what i'm having to do) to be able to get that price, BEFORE you check in your room, you have to have the AP in hand. So just have the hotel hold your luggage, go the the closest park, buy your AP and then head back to the resort. You can tell them on the phone your planning on purchasing the AP, they wont ask you for a AP number because you cant get that price when you check in the hotel without it. So Good Luck! :)

We booked 5 trips last year- 4 with Disney, with AAA because it was the only trip where we had a car and I really wanted the AAA parking pass. It is much easier to request rooms, deal with any changes, etc when booked through Disney.

This last trip I booked online through Disney using a 41% off pin, spent 48 min with CM. The next day I noticed that AP had a 45% off. I called and asked CM to requote me a new price, she said my rate was wonderful and nothing will beat it and said she could not quote a price-:confused3 I went on AP site and went from standard at WL to woods and saved about $150 on 2 rooms. Not a lot of savings, but will pay for dining for someone.

Basically, keep running the numbers - it is worth it.

TY everyone. We got a CM to book it fine for us after all even though I had a failed attempt with the recommended travel agent. Lesson learned. Stick with Disney. We always have booked through them. I was just stumped when the first CM said they did not have that code. Turns out they had one similar, I just needed the right CM.

Its a shame Small World did not fully read my request as might have booked with them.

Maybe its a good thing, stay with the mouse lol.

TY all....
