Booking Question

Went on the DVC website, found a reservation that works with my points. When I went to book it, the screen made it seem like it was going to use my current use year points, and then borrow....without referencing my banked points. When I saw this, I canceled the transaction. If I actually book it online, will it autocorrect and used banked points first, and then current use year? I don't need to borrow, and don't want to borrow! I did a quick search and didn't see this answer.

It should use points in order of earliest to expire to latest. So typically the order of priority is holding points (if applicable), one-time use points, banked points, current use year, and finally borrowing. Though borrowing specifically requires an additional step in the reservation process, specifically have to fill out a borrowing form and stuff. So you should be made aware if it will borrow.

It does sometimes seem like it won’t take banked especially if you have more than one contract. But it always does at the end.

I will say there was a report last week that someone had an issue and even MS by phone had trouble so there was a glitch with their account.

As long as it doesn’t force you to borrow to book, the banked points should get taken. If it won’t let you book without that step, I’d call.
