We just decided to do a cruise/park trip in September 2019. It has to be a specific week which would fit in a 3 night cruise prior to meeting family at park as it is the only time that works for all.
We are leaving in 3 weeks on the DCL Bermuda cruise. Should I wait until then to book onboard and get the OBC or book now since we want a one bedroom and it is currently available on the date that we need? Thoughts???

Thank you

Book now and “reshop” with the future cruise desk when you are on board. If the price hasn’t increased, rebook with the 10% on board discount and $100 stateroom credit. If the price has increased to the point that rebooking doesn’t provide a savings, just keep your original booking.

When we have rebooked a cruise on board, we have been able to keep our selected stateroom, since we don’t use a travel agent to book.

There is no discount for concierge staterooms, just the $100 OBC. That $100 probably isn't worth the risk of not getting the cabin you want in 3 weeks.

You can't "reshop" a concierge cruise because the deposit is not refundable and the OBC is for newly-booked cruises only.

I agree that you can’t reshop a Concierge because of the deposit ( and it would not matter price-wise anyway ), but I have gotten OBC on reshopped cruises every time. Never been an issue. I don’t do Concierge, but still.

Yes, but someone could see the blanket “No OBC on reshopping” and think that was accurate. As you said, it is pointless to reshop a concierge cabin due to the deposit. So any OBC would be a moot point there.

Yes, if you reshop a cruise you've already booked, and do decide to change your prevailing reservation for the one on the cruise, DCL considers the new reservation a "new booking" so OBB perks attach. Because, technically, you are cancelling the current reservation and booking a new one.
