Hi

looking at going to DLP for the first time since 2008 got a few questions.

1, will it be Christmas in November if so what difference will there be compared to a normal time.

2, we are looking at arriving the Monday going home on the Friday is that enough time (its just for me and my GF both in our late 20s)

3, where should we stay? we have looked at Disney hotels and got quoted £650 for both of us without transport that's just to much imo. and if we stay off site how easy is it to get to parks

4, whats changed since 2008? (still be a Disney fan but just been to wdw a few times instead)

5, whats the best way to get to DLP? I don't mind driving if its a simple drive.

thanks in advice

Hi

looking at going to DLP for the first time since 2008 got a few questions.

1, will it be Christmas in November if so what difference will there be compared to a normal time.

From November 9th 2014 to January 7th 2015 Disney's enchanted Christmas arrives in DLP and the parks receive a Christmas overlay, with lots of Christmas decorations around the parks.

Dreams! the night time lazer, firework and projection show gets a Christmas makeover.

There is going to be a Christmas parade and also Christmas Wishes, which is the lighing of the Christmas Tree in Main Street USA. Also the chance to meet Father Christmas and Goofy, plus many other Christmasy things going on around the parks and plus a Christmas Village in the Disney Village.

YES four nights five days is plenty of time to see both parks without having to rush around. But I sugest you make restaurant bookings in advance for the most popular restaurant to ensure you have a stress free trip.

You might find it cheaper for one of you to book a package at a Disney Hotel and the other to buy an Annual Pass (Dream 209 euros or Fantasy 169 euros). Benefits of APs can be found here on DLP Guide which is a wonderful on-line guide book to DLP. I have recently stayed at the Ibis hotel in Val d'Europe one train stop from DLP on the RER A line. The jouney was 10mins from the Ibis hotel to the park gates. The Ibis has rooms from 50 GBP per night.

Dreams! is the new award winning night time spectacular, lasers, lights, projections, water screens and fireworks around the castle

Toy Story Playland in WDS opend in 2010 and this has the new attractions: Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop, Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin and RC Racer.

Ratatouille: The Adventure opens 10 July 2014 in the new mini land Place de Rémy and has Bistrot Chez Rémy, the largest table service restaurant in the park. It's a 3D dark ride, and you can a read a review here.

Playhouse Disney Live on Stage! has also opend in WDS, and so has the Princess Pavilion Meet'n'Greet and Meet Mickey Mouse Meet'n'Greet theatre in the the Disneyland Park.

I live one hour away from London so we always travel by the Direct Eurostar service from St Pancras International Railway Station to Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy train station. Travel time of 2hours 40mins and costs £69 return per adult each way (if you buy the tickets as soon as they are released). The next release of tickes for the Christmas season is rumored to be on 1st August.

The Direct Eurostar trains from London to Disneyland Paris leave at 10:17 and arrive at DLP at around 14:00. They depart Disneyland Paris to London at 18:02 and arrive back in London at 19:45. (The Direct service does not run on Tuesdays and Saturdays except during school holidays in England).

When the Direct service is not running or you want to get to the parks earlier there is also the indirect service where you can change trains at Lille for the TGV to Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy.

if I got the 199 annual pass that states you get 35% Disney hotels would that be for the whole trip

please don't buy a Dream AP for that particular perk - as its "up to 35%", its not all hotels on all dates, and its up to 35% off the full price, which is usually more expensive than a package price including tickets.

Its cheaper to book a discounted package onsite (including park tickets) through the official DLP site (40% off or equivalent is a good deal) for one adult, then buy a fantasy AP for the other adult when you arrive, and add that adult to your room booking for only local taxes (less than 2 euros per night, for the extra adult only, per night booked).

Alternatively, buy Fantasy APs for both of you (169 euros each now), check the blackout dates for them to make sure you can use them on your trip dates, and then stay offsite - as Jonjo says, midweek in November you shouldn't need to pay more than £50 - £60 per room per night total, offsite but nearby.

Premier Classe hotels average out at £40 a night so have a look at those if you are thinking of offsite :-)
