Booking question

I'm sure this is answered here somewhere, but I can't find it!

It appears that online resort reservations can only be made through December right now, and the only prices I can find go through December as well- but it sounds like some folks have trips planned far in advance.

What's the deal? I'm looking at going in January.

You are able to book into next year for Rooms only. Once the packages (dining, tickets and such) and offers start coming out for next year (in August), you can call and upgrade or adjust your rooms & package... Now is the time to reserve your room so that you can get it. Once the new rates come out in August, they start to fill up!!

Actually, the word is that the new rates may be released as early as next month. This has been the trend the last few years.

You can book room only 499 days out by calling. For a January 2014 stay, you can call and book a room only reservation now, which will be quoted at the highest rate for 2013 for that particular resort/room type. A deposit equal to 1 night's room rate + tax is required at time of booking, which will automatically be adjusted once the 2014 rates are released. Keep in mind that if you book room only now and change to a package later, the room only will have to be cancelled/refunded and a package booked, requiring a new $200 deposit. Since room only and packages are different reservation systems, money paid toward one cannot be applied to the other. In order to book a package or book online, you have to wait until the new rates are released.
