Here's the info:

I called to check availability/pricing for the free dining package for Visa cardholders... I am a Visa card holder, and have an existing bounceback reservation. I want to make a new (completely separate) reservation for my DS19, who will be with us for 4 days during the trip.

The CM pulled up my information when I gave her my phone number (she would not even check availability for me until I did this ) and asked who is in the travel party. I told her one adult. She pressed on and asked who was traveling. I said the room is for my son, but I was making the reservation. (She could see that we already have a reservation and wanted to link them together. Not sure why.) As soon as I said the room was for my son, she asked if he had a Disney Visa. He does not... so I can't book a room. Even though I'm paying for it?

I can't understand why I can't book a room for my teenage son with my credit card. The CM told me she'd get fired if she did that. If that's the policy, that's fine .. but I was very confused. LOL.

I don't understand this at all. I was able to book a room for my family as well as another room for a family friend who is traveling with us. I had to put the room in his name, but it is linked to my reservation. I specificaly asked the CM when I did this if I were to get a discount, could I apply it to both rooms and she said yes, that would not be a problem. I thought as long as the 2nd ressie was linked to yours, you could apply any discount that you go to the other ressie. I would call back and speak to a different CM.

the only thing I can figure is that I have an existing bounceback reservation and I'm making a new reservation with this discount. I honestly don't know.

I'm going to call back, I think. Maybe I can add a room to my existing discount?

Thats the policy since last year. If a CM sidesteps that or doesnt know it thats on them.

I was able to put an additional deposit down for another family with my Disney Visa so that they could take advantage of the Free dining (before it came out to the GP). I don't understand why this wouldn't be allowed - as long as the cardholder and person on the ressie both agree to it.

I bet you're right. My guess is you would have to book your room with the Visa offer and then they would let you book a second room for your son.

that would make sense why it's new to me, then. I haven't booked a room since last year. LOL.

I was able to get something with the GP code, booked online. :)
