Booking Partial Cash with Points Ressie HHI

Do the reservations automatically link when you book a cash reservation in between points? The week we are trying to plan at HHI Thursday night is not available for points but is still open to cash reservations. If we book Wednesday and Friday with points and Thursday night as a cash ressie in the same unit size will it all link up so we don't have to change rooms mid trip? Thanks for any advice--this is all new to me!

Is it regular cash or Members Cash? I know that with MC you can stay in the same room. We do it all the time-Sunday thru Thursday on points, the weekend on MC, then the following week on points again. We've done it that way for about the last 4 years, and we've just had to get new keys-for some reason, the key automatically lasts only as long as each segment.

When you check in at the resort, let them know. They will try to keep you in the same unit.

We are not the actual DVC members and are using a family members points--does it make a difference between MC and guest cash?

Yes, if you booked cash thru CRO or a travel agent, you can't link them to a points reservation. But I would still let the front desk know your plans when you check in.
