DM will be sailing with DD and me for the first time on the Disney Magic. It’s a 4-night cruise with one sea day. DM has mobility and snoring issues. I booked an accessible room for her and another adjacent room for DD and me. To make sure we can book Palo and excursions earlier with Gold status, I booked her room under my name (me and DM) and the other room under DD’s name. I also linked the two reservations.

My question is when booking Palo brunch, do I book a table for three or do I have to book a table for two then a table for one (one reservation for each room) then link them once onboard? This is my first time dealing with two room reservations. Thanks in advance for your sharing of your expert experiences and insights!

You can book a table for three. It's not a problem. Since you're linked, you'll be able to select linked stateroom members for all kinds of things like Palo reservations, excursions, etc. For example, I went to Palo with just my mom and step dad (DD and DH didn't go) and also did Parasailing on CC with just my mom, even though my mom and step dad were in another room.

:thanks:

This is wonderful! Happy holidays!!

biggest issue is if the occupants of the two rooms have different Castaway Club levels. If they are all the same level they will be able to book at the same time. If, for instance, one is Platinum and the other is Gold, the platinum room will not be able to book for the Gold room at platinum booking time.

Since both the OP's staterooms are Gold, they can both book at the Gold booking window.

Thanks for the clarification! I will keep this in mind for future references!!

We are in this scenario for our upcoming cruise. Myself and my DH and three kids have sailed once before with DCL so we are silver. My Mom and MIL are traveling with us but this will be their first Disney Cruise. I was able to snag a Palo brunch reservation for myself and my husband and then when their booking window opened I also was able to get a brunch reservation for my mom and MIL (on a different date and time). My question is-can my husband take his mom to one of the palo brunches and I take my mom to the other? Do we need to change the reservation names with Guest services once onboard? And, similarly-I was able to book a few beverage tastings under myself and my husband but was unable to do so for my mom and MIL (all booked)-can say my mom come with me to a tasting instead of my husband or again, do those names need to be updated? Would love any guidance on this!

Thanks!!
Kelly

As to Palo - go to where the Palo dining changes are being handled on embarkation day. Since everyone has a reservation, just ask them to put you all on the same reservation (I'm figuring you want to all do brunch together?).

Can't answer to the beverage tasting, as the charge is made/paid for at the time of the tasting. You use your KTTW card and sign for it. I'd give it a shot once onboard to see if you can book a tasting for everyone at the same time. DCL often adds additional tastings onboard.

they might allow the substitution at the beverage tasting, so long as the substituted person is an adult and they bring the ticket.

I was thinking the same thing, but I couldn't remember how the tickets worked? I thought on our first (and only) Disney cruise we were given the drink tasting tickets at Guests services when we signed up for the tastings. Now that they are pre-booking beverage tastings online I wonder how the tickets are handled.

Actually, our hope was for my mom and I to have a nice brunch at Palo together and for my husband to do the same with his mom (so two separate brunch dates/times). We have two booked but just with the wrong combination of guests. I think I'll try to give DCL a call to inquire about this and the beverage tasting switcharoos. Thanks for the response!

Once you board, go to where the Palo changes are handled, they will just switch the names/dates as you wish. Since you already have the two separate reservations, it shouldn't be any issue.

If you pre-book a tasting online, your ticket(s) will be in your stateroom when you board, the same as port adventure tickets. If you book a tasting on board, you will get your ticket(s) at the time of booking, just like in the past.

Thanks for the clarification! Do you know when the account is actually charged for the tastings? In other words, is the KTTW (is that still what the room keys are called on DCL :confused3) card scanned when you show up for the actual tasting or is each ticket billed to our shipboard account as each is printed?

Thanks again for your knowledge!

It’s billed after the tasting. Whether your card is scanned or not seems to vary by ship. On the recent EBPC on the Wonder, my card was scanned for all of the tastings I did (four in total). On the Fantasy last March, it was never scanned.
