Booking package, but don't need park tickets

Yes. You can ask to have them converted to hard, plastic tickets and removed from your MDE.

Or, reassign them to a safekeeping "person" in MDE so they aren't inadvertently used for park entry.

Do you want to get the dining plan? There is a room & dining ticketless package, I think you have to call.

Not sure if they are restricted to just AP holders but a ticketless alternative is usually available but only if you call. Generally it's the same savings but may not be the exact same package. You might be able to find a cheaper alternative.

Edited to strike out the below, my information was incorrect and thanks for the clarification from others.
I want to say every ticket does have some sort of expiration now, I would check when you would have to use the tickets in the future to not have them lost.

I'm not sure this is correct. If you never activate or use the tickets, they should be good until you do. The no expiration tickets you used to be able to buy applied only to tickets that had been used.

Has the non-activated, non-used option to keep forever gone away?

If I book a package, can I save the park tickets for future use?
Why?

Yes, you can save the tickets. But the only reason you'd want to is if you were required to buy tickets in order to qualify for free dining. Otherwise, you can now book a "ticketless" package, but you have to book it over the phone.

Thanks All! We are AP holders & could only find packages for the dates we are looking for. We will call & see what they have.

I actually just looked it up, 3 and 4 day florida resident tickets do have an expiration as well as black out dates but I was consfusing that with unused..

My previous information was incorrect, thanks for clarifying and I altered my post to not be confusing to others trying to find out more information.

Actually, we did this. We had a stay play dine the last time we went. We still had active APs so I even though we only went for six nights I got the package tickets for ten dat passes. I linked them to our bands but made sure before we went in the park that our APs had priority before entering the park the first time that trip. Now, why I did this. I could have purchased my tickets for January's trip later, but I new we weren't going again after January for a while. I wanted the tickets linked while there so 2) I wouldn't have to link them from home and 2) so I could make all my fast passes for our split stay in January at 60 days from our first ressie.
