Booking options with AAA discount

Well, we are planning to book our spring break trip this week. This rule that you could only book AAA packages through AAA is the only thing that makes me uncomfortable. My biggest concern is that a code comes out and will my AAA agent be able to get it on time or not. We like the package option due to the dining plan. We have an early spring break (march 10-17 is our travel dates) so I'm hoping that will increase the chances of a code for those dates.

Does anyone know if we were to book a room only with AAA through Disney or on-line TA if it is easy to add dining plan & tix down the road...hopefully if a code comes out? Of course, this bet will only pay off if a code comes through.

Thanks for your help.

Our AAA agent tried to get us a code discount on this November trip, but could not...of course I could not get it for our dates either at the resort we wanted and saw several posts on this board where others had also been unsuccessful for our dates....so I can't blame her.....she did call and offer to switch us to other resorts that were available at the discounted rate though so I don't think it was her fault....she told me when I booked that if a code came out she would book it, but we would have to call her and ask....she wasn't going to be watching as closely as I was. She said they would not impose a change fee for the change to a lower rate.....although very few codes come out that can be used with the dining plan.

I think part of the problem is that CRO opens at 7:00 and most TAs, other than the disney specialists, do not come in early to make phone calls when codes are released. If you have a AAA TA whose office opens at 10:00, or who is not in the eastern time zone, you have a bunch of people getting the jump on you by a few hours.

That said, there seem to be a fair number of reports whenever codes come out of people whose AAA agents have hooked them up. Seems like the most important factor is to make sure you get an AAA agent who understands disney and the codes and deals with it on a regular basis.
