Booking online vs over the phone???

Ok, can someone please help me because I am starting to think I am crazy!!!! (This is kinda a long story). I am booked at Caribbean Beach Resort Dec 2 throught Dec 7, 2013 in a standard room. There are 4 of us. I have checked the prices many times. When you go to look online, everytime you add an additional person, above 2 people, the price goes up $17 a night per person. So a room with 4 people is 34 more dollars more a night for the 2 additional people. So online with 4 people on those dates, it shows my total is $1175.62. Online with 2 people it shows a total of 1006.87. So obviously when you add more people, the price per night goes up.

Here is where I am going crazy. I have a friend who is a Disney CM, and she is staying with us and we got her 50 percent off discount. She booked the room for the 4 of us. For 4 people at $1175.62 our price at half off should be $587.50. When I got my conformation email this morning it showed I owe $672.19????? That would mean the room is $1344.38 When I called Disney this morning after an hour and half on the phone and on hold, and 3 people including a manager, I was told the website doesn't add the 3rd and 4th person until booking and thats the price difference. but when you add each additional person on the website, the price does go up $17 a night for each person you add???

I there something I am totally missing. The website does calculate the additional people, but three different people on the phone today told me it doesn't????? For the price I am paying, I could get a water view room. I know I am lucky with getting the half off, but thats not the point. I just don't get why there are saying the sites price doesn't include all 4 people until booking? Thanks for any insite.

I agree that they are probably wrong. I am only speculating here, but I would assume the slight difference in the price is either because of the CM discount, or are you sure you ended up with the same room category? That sounds alot like the difference between a standard and a preferred room.

Double check those little things and maybe just be happy you get such a great price because of your friend.

I know for sure I am putting in the correct room category. I work with computers, so I know I am doing it right. That's why I am so bothered by it, because it is such a price difference. They flat out told me (3 different people) online doesn't calculate the other two people, when it does. They said that was why there is such a price difference. Like I said, I know I am lucky with the half off, but thats not the point. I just wanted to know if anyone else had experienced this.

The room only includes 2 adults. Any over that is $15 a night. Could it be that?

Yes that is true, but when online, for every additional person you add over 2, the price per night goes up $17. So if you put 2 people it will say the room is (for example) $210 a night, then if you put 3 people, it will then say the room is $227 a night, if you put 4 people, it says the room is $244 a night. So to me, it is adding the extra person?
