Hi
I've priced up a trip on the US site for this year as when I called WDTC they don't have a room at POR for 5 for my dates of the 29th October till the 12th November BUT going through the US one they do,
Also there has been a lot of talk on the US side that free dining will be available to the general public for November, so I have a few questions :)

1. The price for POR ( 1 room) was $6519 for 14 nights DDP and 10 day base tickets for 2 adults and 3 kids ( 1 which will be 11) i think this is a fairly decent price when worked into £s at the 1.50 rate! We was never planning to go this year hence the late booking but going with such wonderful friends who love disney as much as us is just too tempting for us!! Yes it's your fault "Ian Susanne & Ryan on DIS" for being such lovely people lol plus the boys are begging us to go with you now and we can't say no to them haha.

2. We are planning to go back to Disney next yr in may for 2 wks and do a Disney cruise! Normally we only go every 2 years but we have wanted to take my mum on a cruise for years

So the question is should we get AP would this be worth it if we only do the 2 trips?? we still have the very high chance of a US posting as we are in the process of deciding between promotion or the posting! ( promotion always comes at a bad time! lol) we might even try and pop in a adult only 1 wk trip too,

3. What happens if we do buy the APs to get the dining do we still have to buy park tickets with the room?
We want 14 days of parks so 10 won't be enough anyways!! So if we dont get the APs and get the 14 day UK ticket what can we do with the other tickets we would have to buy??

We are hoping to book the room by the end of the wk to secure the dates and then get plane tickets at the end Of the month, if we do it on the Internet by the US site and free dining comes out can we apply it like the US folks do? Would we be ok to call from here? We could always say we are posted here for a month or so and need to alter the booking if they realise we are calling from the UK!?

Or our other option is to get our friends or family in who live in the US to book it for us so if free DDP comes out they could call an have it applied for us pretending to be us for the purpose of the call lol!

Anyways HELP PLEASE!!!! :)

Cindy x

If you buy the annual passes you will probably be able to get an annual pass discount. Then you can add the dining plan to your reservation. The 10 day pass is the maximum the US does.

Why don't you book through an agent? We use Dreams Unlimited for all our US bookings. I find it easier as you don't have to call to amend if a better deal comes out they do it all for you.

They also charge only what Disney would :thumbsup2

MYW tickets never expire if they are not used so you could keep them for future.

Thanks will they apply free dining of it comes out for the US guests?
I'm thinking of putting my MYW tickets towards the cost of the APs can I do that? And up grade at GS?

Dreams will apply any discount that will save you money automatically as long as your room type is available. If its not they will contact you with options.

MYW can be upgraded to APs at any ticket window.

Thanks,

I contacted dreams yesterday hopefully they will get back to me soon as there is 20% off of POR for the US packages right now! And its coming in at a pretty good rate!
If they don't get back in time then ill book online and then call if free dining comes out and have them change it for me! :)

Once you put in a quote request they will get back to you usually within 24 hours. I honestly can't fault the service.

The 20% will be a room only discount which you can make in to a package but only the room is discounted :)

Also when Disney US release GP free dining there are usually some long waits on the phones so its nice to know its being taken care of rather than spending money on phoning the US :thumbsup2

MYW tickets do expire, unless you pay extra for them to not expire.
and that extra is VERY costly.

Elise said MYW do not expire if they are not used, which I understand to be true. Pretty sure they only gain an expiry date after first entry to a park?

when you book a dining package room in the US, you have to buy a ticket, but not for the length of your stay...

i can't remember if it was a one day or two day ticket i had to buy...
i seem to remember i had to buy a 1 day ticket for the paid dining package and a two day ticket for the free dining package..

in any case, even if you buy the 10 day ticket, you can upgrade it to an AP (while you're still there - not later)..

i've booked dining packages through the US several times..

free dining twice and paid for dining, once...

and i'm about to book the paid dining package again (for this august)..

when i did the paid dining package, i upgraded our tickets to PAPs...

We are going to now only buy the 2 day ticket to get the DDP
We will then either keep them for a later date to upgrade OR we will upgrade them at that time, BUT we are thinking its best to keep the 2 day passes until we know where we will be living as if its in the US then we will use the PAPs way more then if we are still in the UK!

We are going to get the 14 day ultimate as it seems cheaper then getting the 10 day MYW tickets with hopping! As we will get the full 14 days,
Rubbish that you have to add tickets to get dining and that we can't use our uk tickets to get DDP :(

yes it's totally annoying....
i'll have to buy unnecessary tickets too...i have an AP and i just bought the 14 day ultimates for the rest of my group...
but i still have to buy those stupid tickets..
so now it's a two day ticket with the paid dining plan? what a rip off!!
