Is the savings significant enough to book next cruise while on cruise given you have Costco as an alternative to book later? Doing a 3 night for the first time (have Costco but booked somewhere else --- didn't know about Costco savings til this board) and would likely be booking only a 4 night for next trip. Thanks.

As I understand it you can book on board and take advantage of the stateroom credit and then rebook with Costco later -if they have a cheaper rate-
This way you get the best rate and you still keep your stateroom credit.

Check Costco's rate BEFORE you sail for the dates you want. Then onboard, check DCL's rate at guest services. Go with the least expensive.

CheapMom is correct. Book on board to get your $200 stateroom credit then transfer the reservation to Costco later to get a cheaper room rate and still keep the credit. We have done this three times now and it works perfectly.

If I don't use all of my credit, can I have it on the next cruise?

If I am not mistaken, it is a non-refundable credit. Most people have little problems using the on board credits given. - Mike

Can credits be used for tipping? I'll already have 100 credit for 2 rooms and the Disney Visa thing and we weren't going to do much in the way of excursions with young kids. I just bought the costco snorkeling gear so I wouldn't need to rent it!

I believe On board credits can be used for anything you charge to your room account which would include the charges for tipping. If I am mistaken, I know another poster will correct me but this is my understanding. - Mike

Hi!

What is Costco? Is it like a Sam's or BJ's club membership? If it is, and there isn't one in your area, do they have a website where you can look at the rates for the Disney Cruises?

Thank,
Michele

You can use your credit for tipping...anything that you charge to your room. Book on board you will receive a 10% savings and ship board credits. We did and then transferred the ressie to DU, and got an additional $50 rebate. DU matched the price on board which already beat Costcos! You won't have any trouble speinding your shipboard credit! It is like Sam's and Bj's. Unfortunately you can't browse pricing- you have to call with a membership id to get a quote. Their prices are really good. We saved $521 over Disney's price and $295 over allseastravel price and about $100 over DU ($175 savings less the DU rebate of $75)
This is only for a 3 day cruise- the savings are more significant on a 4 or 7 day.
