Booking on cash

I'd like to book a room using cash for two nights at Port Orleans - French Quarter. We've used all our points for this year AND next year (did a big family trip). My question is: could I get a discount on the room rate if I book through DVC? Or should I just go through the regular Disney reservation system? Thanks.

There is no cash discount on moderates for DVC members, only for the DVC resorts on selected dates.

But depending on when you are going, there is a huge discount for AP holders. I find most DVC people who are annual passholders completely forget to check the annual passholder rates when they want to book on cash. Often, the annual passholder discount on the room is enough to justify the cost of the annual pass itself.

If you want to book cash nights at a DVC resort, CRO can often give you a better discount than DVC. DVC is a flat 25% discount if avaiable. CRO sometimes offers 45% on DVC rooms.

We just returned from 8 nights at BLT using cash. We got 45% off the room. Any time they through deals that good it pays to pay cash and save your points. They also clean the room daily, which is also a plus.
