Booking on a whim! Time critical advice needed TONIGHT!!!

River views are a separate room category, and they cost extra. While there are some rare instances that guests who booked directly with Disney get a free upgrade to a higher room category, rooms booked through the agency are not eligible for the free upgrades (which are unlikely anyway, and are not available by request).

I thought the same thing until a few on the boards said they did get free upgrades with the agency exclusive bookings.

I have booked POFQ with the agency exclusive booking and without maybe 5 times? 3 times we were assigned a GV when booking standard. I usually ask for building 4 because it is convenient to everything (bus/food/pool). I have gotten building 3,4, 5, 5 and 6 iirc. I say go ahead and request a river view if that's what you want. Those river view rooms are always available when I have been looking. The cheapest rooms seem to go first so I think you have a good chance of getting an upgrade (guessing they overbook standard view if the more expensive rooms aren't selling. **Only a guess!)
