Hi Everyone!

Can someone tell me how hard it is to book a room at 7 months out at OKW? Any room size...not sure what sells out first here?

Most of the time not too difficult. Except maybe for Grand Villas.

I was even able to get a GV for the marathon weekend next January. Part was at 11 months using my OKW points, but I didn't have enough for my whole trip, so I had to wait until 7 months to use another resort's points. Got it with no problem.

Ok great...any size would be fine, just didn't know if one kind of room here filled up fastest!

OKW is a large resort and at 7 months out you should be fine. The studio's are good size and go petty fast.

We stayed there last trip (3 years ago) and made our reservation not too much in advance, no problem. The resort is so big it usually is fine, as is SSR. Good luck!

But there have been reports lately of nothing being available two/three months out for some times of the year.

Last week, I booked a studio for 6 nights at the end of January/beginning of February. The cm even offered me Hospitality House location, so I took it. :cheer2: It will be our first time at OKW. We have not been to Disney World in three years and I am cramming in a short trip inbetween my sons hockey games. I can't wait to get back!!
I was actually suprised that when I called to book, I could have gotten a value studio at AKV for the first four nights of our stay. Didn't take it because I would rather just stay in one place and not move hotels.

Ha! I know the feeling. We have a trip planned 12/22 - 12/30, and he'll only miss one hockey practice! :woohoo: Between hockey and baseball, we have about 3 weeks in a 12 month period we can travel. In fact, we'll be at the rink in about 3 hrs! Have to say I love it, though. :thumbsup2

To the OP, I've only had problems booking at OKW after the 7 month mark around major holidays. For example, my parents are coming down with us at Christmas. When I called at 7 months, I booked a 2-BR at VWL (before we knew they were going). I had to waitlist the first night of our stay, because the only thing that was available was a 1-BR. About 6 months out when they decided to go, I called to see if a 2-BR was available anywhere for all nights (12/22 - 12/30). At that point, no resort had availability for all 8 nights.

Overall, if I book 8 - 11 months out or call right at the 7 month mark, I can get almost anything I want anywhere I want for the times we travel (mostly spring break and late July/early Aug). :thumbsup2

We usually don't have any trouble booking OKW late.... but sometimes particular dates can be an issue. For an upcoming January trip, we were able to get our first 5 nights at 5 months out with no problem. The next three nights were over Marathon weekend and two of those nights were not available. We decided to stick with our original Treehouse Villa reservation for the last three nights. Member services did say that if we really wanted OKW our chances of getting in off the wait list were good. Apparently a lot of people make reservations for Marathon weekend well in advance in case they decide to run, then cancel a few months out.
