booking non dvc resort

If we want to pay cash and stay at a non dvc resort for a few days and transfer to dvc for the remaining stay, who do we call to book? Do we call member services or somewhere else? Also, how does transferring luggage from one resort to another worjk?

If you want to stay at any Disney resort, you cal CRO--it's the 1-407-WDISNEY number. That's central reservations. You can even pay for DVC there, if you were not a member, and you wanted to stay at a DVC resort. They can help you by letting you know what resorts are available on the dates you will be there.

Now, for a transfer of luggage--you take it to bell services(or call them to come and get your luggage), tell them where you want it sent, and you're done! It may take a few hours for your luggage to get delivered to your new resort, so don't pack away anything you will need for the day. They will store it at your new resort until you get your room, then you call them, and they will bring it to you. It's so easy!

I assume you don't have a car available and will be relying on Disney transportation to get you to/from the resorts, etc. In that case then Bell Services should be able to help with the transfer. It won't be immediate so you may want to keep a day-bag full of stuff you might want the day of the resort change.

We just booked a Fri & Sat night cash stay online through the Disney website and will be transferring to AKV the following week. We will have our car with us so getting moved isn't a problem. I'm not sure how the bookings work when you call but we had to leave a deposit online to reserve the booking and will pay the balance at check-in.
