Booking more than 1 room during FD?

I am so excited about planning our Sept. trip. If all the stars align we may be able to get air & dining for free. My question is this...we're DV card holders, but my parents & my in-laws are not. Can we book a room for my parents and a room for my in-laws now if we put them all on our card or do they need to wait until FD opens to the public? Also if we do book them all together and one set of grandparents has to cancel do they have to cancel the whole booking a re-book just 2 rooms? Can we lose FD if that happens?

Thanks!

I'm wondering this too. I assumed I could book two rooms (one for us, one for MIL and DM) with my DV. But my TA just e-mailed me to say she did our room, and did they have a DV or need to wait until Monday? I replied that I thought both would be on my card, but now I'm nervous we'll get POP like we want but no room for them?

Update: my TA just e-mailed me back to say that she can put their room on my card. So as long as you don't mind paying their deposit, you should be good. I'm fine with that, I just want to get everything squared away and get serious about picking restaurants!!!

Thanks Jana! Do you happen to know what happens if you have to cancel one of the rooms? I'm worried that if either my parents or my in-laws need to cancel (most likely my parents) that they'll have to cancel all 3 rooms and we might not get FD or might not get the resort we want (CBR) when re-booking. I hope I'm wrong. Thanks again.

I just put 3 rooms on my DV this morning for Free Dining (mine, my parents and my sisters) total 6 adults and one child. No problem as long as they are reserved with the same Disney Visa. I'm not certain, but someone said the balance also needed to be paid on the same Visa. Just be sure!

I would be surprised if cancelling one room affects the others. In essence you would just be modifying your ressie, right? It seems like that shouldn't be a problem. My MIL and DM are about 95% positive, but I wanted to get it all taken care of today. So I could be in that boat as well if they back out. I hadn't really worried about it because it seems like it shouldn't be an issue! I'm sure someone on here with more experience (I have none!) can help!
