Is there a best time of day to try to get a reservation maybe that was cancelled? We book free dining, quick service for our Dec 14-20 trip. I did ask my travel agent to try for BOG when our reservation window opened. I have always made my own but I decided to use a Disney specialist so I wouldn't have to get up at the crack of dawn. Well I have learned my lesson! She said she was up when it opened and couldn't get BOG and has been trying ever since. I am finding it hard to believe because that day on Disboards a lot of Disers who had same ressie window were able to get BOG. I am so bummed:guilty: It is my DD 11th bday.

Since you mentioned "free dining, quick service" are you looking for a lunch or dinner reservation? Lunch is quick service, but FP+ isn't opening until approx 27 days before your trip. However, this seems to be in a state of limbo at the moment with people not being able to book early November so it looks like things might be changing.

If you are looking for a dinner reservation, persistence is the key. Cancellations go back into the system as they are made so it's a matter of being online just as the one you want pops up. Keep checking online multiple times a day. While many cancellations show up close to the day of the res because of the no show penalty, for BOG I wouldn't wait until the last minute to start checking.

While it would be great to get a res on the exact day of your daughter's birthday, you will have more chances if you expand your options to more days.

Also, depending on the size of your party, you can check for the exact number or for more than your group. Everyone who will be at the table, even infants, needs to be included, but if, for example you are a party of 5, but find a res for 6, take it and just let the CM at the podium know that there are only 5 of you. You will not be charged for the "missing" guest as long as at least one person shows up for the res.
