Booking Hotel on Airmiles site

Can I book a hotel for my son on the Airmiles site. He will be going to Montreal for the Cirque du Soleil show and needs a place to stay. I saw a great deal the other day for bonus AM if I book through the site. I'm just not certain if I can book in his name using my Airmiles account.

Any advice from those who have done so before is much needed.

YES! Go ahead and book it through the AM site (and get the extra 250 right now i think?)
Book it in HIS name --- the fine print doesn't show up until AFTER you get your confirmation that the lead guest must be present at check-in and we were almost burned on that.

When i checked in and out there was no indication on the hotel's end where i had booked or paid.

Good to know. We know AM doesn't care whose name you book anything in. Does he need to have my AM card with him at check-in?

Nope, they didn't have any idea how i'd booked and paid, just said at both check-in and out "your room's fully paid for" I didn't even get a receipt at check out because nothing was charged throughout our stay, when i asked i was told "I guess you can print out the receipt you got when you booked it?" We were staying at the ALT hotel at Pearson if that makes any difference??

Great info. I will book a hotel for DS as soon as I get him to sit down long enough to do it.
