Booking FREE DINING w/o Disney Visa - UPDATED - Please don't do this.

Just talked to Cm and tried to book free dinning wihtout Disney Visa,... I am a Canadian resident and can't get a Disney visa. He would not allow it, in fact when he spoke to his manager, he was told that anyone who booked without using disney Visa will in fact be charged for the dinning!! The CM I spoke to also said this was purely a Disney Visa promo, and not a general public promo????

So did you book a new reservation with free dining without a Disney Visa?! Did you get a confirmation number?

Yes. He gave me a reservation number and everything. I don't know how I got lucky on this one. :confused3

Apparently beginning Tuesday the offer will be open to those without a Disney Visa. Mousesavers.com has the info posted on their site as well. I was just curious as to if it has to be an actual credit card or if a Visa check card would work just as well.
I'm sorry, I thought you meant today. My email did say we were being given a head start, so I assume after the 4th, you can pay anyway you wish.

someone help me. I booked our reservataion with the Disney visa code because my mom will be joining us and she has a disney visa. However, i did not have her number when i called. I told the CM this and she was still able to apply the code with me using my visa debit card. Are they going to cancel my reservation without telling me. I do have a confirmation number. Does the deposit have to go on the Disney visa or just a portion of the balance????

I'm totally confused now! My CM seemed to think it was not a problem to book WITH DINING, call Tue and they would change it to FREE dining. I guess the worst that could happen is I'd have to switch back to NO dining or cancel and start over. I wonder why we're getting different stories?
'Guess we'll all know Tuesday.... :rolleyes2

We have the Disney Visa and I called around 10am EST to get a price on the Caribbean Beach... They gave me a price... I just called back 2pm EST and they said ALL the moderates are already sold out for that deal. She said they've been extremely busy.

I just called. There were no standard or pool view rooms available to AKL, only Savannah. Don't know if that just applies for the rooms with free dining or overall. I was trying to get a standard or pool view. So I booked for Savannah and with the free dining, it was the same price as my previous reservations for a pool view room.

That doesn't surprise me. PV and Standard go fast at AKL even for AP rates. I think for our trip in June there are not any of those rooms available during our stay even at rack rates.

You know I don't understand the confusion on this. Right now this offer is available to those that "have" a Disney Visa. Very simple, if you don't have it you don't qualify for the free dining at this time.

I am sure if it becomes available to the general public it will be posted here and on Mousesavers. Why would anyone risk having your reservation cancelled, paying more than you planned, and worrying about all this, when the solution is so simple. When guests do this to the DRC, the pressure gets to them, they give in, they get in trouble, the guests gets upset if their reservation is cancelled, etc. A lot of stress for everyone that could be avoided.

So Book Now if you have Disney Visa, If not Wait for further notice.

I agree :thumbsup2
It would be like me wanting it applied for my dates in June when it's not within the timeline. It would be the same misuse of a code.

Cheerbop, I was just reporting I have the Disney Visa & that during that one week period (Sept. 24-Sept 30) that I was told that the moderates were sold out.

I am not sure about other weeks. I figured that would go quickly too because the Food & Wine Festival starts on the 29th.

Different stories from CRO is the norm.
Call Tuesday and see if you can change it. Like you said, you can always go back to no dining on Tuesday if there isn't anything.

I would look at some of the other prices at other resorts and see if you'd still save money by moving to a different resort though.

oops..forgot to mention that was for Sept. 24-Sept 30th.. that the moderates were sold out.

hmmm can anyone else confirm this????? Hopefully it's just a CM goof up or...maybe they are saving a bunch for us general public, non Disney Visa people!!! :thumbsup2

I sure hope this isn't true because that's my week and although I already have ressies at POR paying for dining....I was hoping it would be as simple as applying the code on Tuesday. If all mods for that week are sold out then I really doubt they had very many rooms set aside for the free dining because even if they are extra busy......that is a lot of rooms to sell in just 24 hrs to Disney Visa holders.

WDTC MYW with Dining and MYW with Free Dining are two different travel packages. I would *assume* the CM would have to cancel the one and rebook the new. Sounds like it will be a busy week next week for WDTC sales! I am sure they are prepared though. :)
