Booking FREE DINING w/o Disney Visa - UPDATED - Please don't do this.

I just called to cancel a reservation, and was chatting with the CM. I said how great free dining was last year and he said "We have it again right now." I was stunned!

UPDATE: I just called back and was told by the CM I spoke to that reservations for this free dining plan should ABSOLUTELY NOT be made right now without a Disney Visa.

Sorry for the confusion. I actually booked two reservations this morning. One for my family, with my Disney Visa. Then I booked one for my friend and her family. She doesn't have a Disney Visa, so the CM just used the other code and gave me the reservation number. I just called CRO and paid her deposit on my Disney Visa and all is well now.

That's funny, I thought you had to put your deposit on your Disney Visa.

The CM I just spoke to said he just had to use a different code for non-Disney Visa holders.

I just tried and got a "no" also, I was told the CMs weren't supposed to even discuss this until the 4th

I just talked to a CM and she said you have to have the Visa card until the 4th. Then it will open up to the public, but there are limited rooms reserved for the promotion. I'll be booking tomorrow Only one day to figure out which resort to stay at

You could but that may be a bad idea since who knows how many rooms are available for the free dining deal at your resort of choice. If you take one with out the deal you may run the chance of it showing non available for the free dining. Does that make sense? Hopefully there are lots of rooms and we'll all have no problem but I think it's probably better to just be on the phone asap on 4th.

I just booked. CM advised to book with dining (higher price) and to call Tue and they will change it. She even made my dining ressies. Got Cindy's castle
The balance is higher,but will change Tue. Now, I have to dig out my lime green backpack from last year.

I just called. There were no standard or pool view rooms available to AKL, only Savannah. Don't know if that just applies for the rooms with free dining or overall. I was trying to get a standard or pool view. So I booked for Savannah and with the free dining, it was the same price as my previous reservations for a pool view room.

Does anyone know if you have to use an actual Visa credit card or if a Visa check card will work too?

I thought you had to use the Disney Visa. I didn't try any other card.

Supposedly, until 4/4, the only way to get the free dining is to book with a Disney Visa credit card. Sounds like some CM's have been letting people without them book prior to that date. ???
