Booking FP+ for multiple people??

We are staying onsite with a room-only, tickets purchased separately. DH will not be there the whole trip so is getting a ticket with fewer days. Is there some trick I need to be aware of when booking the FP+ so that we can still book FP+ for the right people on all the days they will be there?

Kids and I will have 5-day passes. First day will be just us in the parks.
DH will have 4-day pass, joining us on day 2.

Concerned that there could be some kind of quirk in the system that blocks me booking FP+ for DH on day 5 (that is, counting day 1 for him, even though he won't be there and I won't book FP+ for him on that day).

I am a reasonably-smart, educated woman. Why is this FP+ thing so difficult??!?!?

The FP booking ability is tied to your # of ticket days, not length of stay. For instance, if you had a 10day vacation but 5 day tickets, you could book your Fastpasses anywhere during your trip, but only a maximum of 5 different days.

The date you can begin to book is determined by your on-site reservation, but it doesn't matter how you spread out your FP picks.

Can't promise no glitches or quirks, but you should be able to book your FPs just fine for your family with thise stay dates and park dates. Good luck!
